UK non fiction book of guns
This is a book I had in the 90s. It was great for reference and I'd love to find it again.
It detailed guns, pistols, sub-machine guns, etc. I believe it referenced the British adopting the SA bullpup rifle, and that was probably the most modern gun in it, if that helps date it.
It was written by an (ex?) British army officer, and he wrote well with little nuggets about the guns, such as the Americans being furious in WW1 at having to use the Chauchau when the B.A.R was an alternative. I also remember on the AK47 he ended with something like "god only knows how many were made or how many people have been killed by them."
All the guns were actual photos, no illustrations, and they were all on a white background.
It was a large format book, mine was hardcover but it may not have been exclusively so.
It was a fascinating book which I sadly lost when moving and I've wanted to find it again ever since but cannot remember the actual title!
If anyone knows, I'd be grateful!
