Low 12v Battery Warning

I found an old thread where the advice was to drive for at least 30 minutes after resetting the 12v battery. I didn’t do that because it happened before work and my commute is 15 minutes. I didn’t drive the car for about 36 hours and my car was completely dead so I had to use the physical key to get in and press the reset button.

My question is, can I press the reset button at any time? Could I press it after work (and obviously drive 30 minutes) or should I wait until I have a longer drive planned. I imagine I could press it at anytime I just want a second opinion 🥴

I’m surprised the app doesn’t send a notification about it and that there’s no 12v gauge in the menus.

FCC Ban: Yarbo's Comment

Following up on a subreddit post about the FCC Ban, I spotted a comment from Yarbo on a Facebook post on their M-Series FB Group:

>We're aware of the FCC's recent action on advanced robotic devices and we're following it closely.

>Based on our current understanding, the rule applies to new models seeking equipment authorization in the US and isn't retroactive — so the Yarbo products already authorized and on sale [in the US] remain available, and their sale, use, maintenance updates and customer support aren't affected.

>For products not yet released in the US, availability depends on the regulatory pathway that's still being clarified, and we're not able to give a date at this time — we'd rather say that than give a date we can't stand behind. We're working through the requirements with international certification bodies, and we'll share each step as it's confirmed rather than waiting until everything is settled.

We don't know how severely this impacts the M-Series release date but sounds like they'll issue an update when they have all the information. I think it's smart that they're waiting till all the information is known because they've definitely missed deadlines in the past and I'd rather wait than have more missed deadlines, even if it's just for information.

Reminder: Primary Election Voting ENDS on August 11th

Only four more days to vote and it’s important that you do because the top two candidates for mayor go to the General election. There is no official “Republican” or “Democrat” nominee for Mayor (although their policies may be) because they should technically be non-partisan; in November you could be voting for one of two Republican policy candidates or two Democratic policy candidates.

So please vote for who you want to be on the ballot in November on or before August 11th.

Single Role Mention Spam

Is anyone else seeing an increase in a new type of spam? I’ve got a new type of message that I can’t add to my automod regex because it’s literally just one mentionable role and a photo. It’s not the first mentionable role, but it’s always the role with the most members in it. As a result, I can’t create a new role that has no members as these bots apparently have a way to know which mentionable roles have the most members.

I have a third-party bot set to auto-timeout users who send two mentions in a few seconds and have exempted roles that are based on activity so none of my regulars get automatically caught in the filter, again. However, I just had a spammer mention the role 6 times before they were stopped. It’s always the voice channels and a few other channels.

This is the third time it’s happened in as many weeks. It seems like a new type of spam attack and I’m lost on how to mitigate this without making the public server, private which would be devastating to our community reach and purpose. Conversely, members are already annoyed by the mention spam so maybe it’s a required evil until a fix can be found.

Anyone else experiencing the same thing and found a way to address it?

Cybertruck gets towed from MOAB in Utah (via Matts Offroad Recovery)

WhistlinDiesel is notorious for abusing vehicles and this time, his Cybertruck got cyberstuck when it wouldn't drive anymore. He called Matt to get him out. At one point the truck is picked up by two off road wreckers and carried because the trucks tow mode keeps disengaging, causing the rear wheels to lock up.
