Looking for a deep sea captain with proven record.

My wife is getting me a tuna trip for my 40th. Ive done my research and have a shortlist of outfits to call and talk to. Im just looking for recs from people who've done these trips and know what to look for or have a guy they use because he can smell the fish and puts them in the boat, every time. Yellowfin for sure, bucket list is bluefin.

Should I take my freshwater outboard to the beach?

We have a lakehouse. At it lives a 16ft jon with a 1 year old suzuki outboard. I really want to take the boat to the beach with me this year to do some fishing on the waterway and flats. Im hesitant because even though the motor is rated for saltwater Im concerned that using it in saltwater even once could potentially cause me issues in the future I wouldnt normally run into on the lake. In my head, once in a blue moon wont realistically do anything to it as long as I do proper care and maintenance. Flush it, etc.

What say the other captains? What should I do if I do decide to take it?

Herbicide contaminated city compost

So in short, the compost you can get at the city recycling centers is contaminated (maybe not all locations, but definitely the grove park one) with herbicide. I used it on EVERYTHING this year. And its all stunted, leaves curling, yellowing and all around unproductive. Flowers, vegetables, cbd plants, all of it.

So just a heads up, I wouldnt place all your eggs in that basket this year. Use other reputable dirt suppliers or get bags.

Jetskis are boring.

Ragebait title, sorry. Ill say first off that the skis themselves arent boring machines. But I get bored super fast. We have a lakehouse we use on warm month weekends in NC and these two badass skis. Both '18 a 1.0 vx deluxe and a vx cruiser 1.8 ho. 130 hrs and 70 hrs respectively.

My typical use pattern is hit the glass at around 7am for like 10 mins. Then maybe a couple jaunts for like 5 minutes for some loopty loops and power slides a few times during the day and maybe a 10 minute ride in the evening while the lake is emptying for dinner. If i go out for a longer ride I get pretty bored with it after 20 minutes. Its really just like its a one trick pony. Dont get me wrong, its a really good trick but it doesnt hold my attention for long.

Does anyone else feel this way?
