Anyone had a p1061 excessive camshaft chain wear issue randomly Brick their Kuga? From what I can tell it's a knock sensor.
So basically I took my Kuga next door to my mechanic to an unrelated issue. We were looking under the bonnet to see if it was the Aircon pump/motor that was buzzing. We confirmed it. Shut the bonnet and the car started clunking and clacking and it was physically jolting forward on the handbrake. We turned the engine off and put a code reader on it. Initially we had a power train fault then when looking into it I've got this p1061 fault.
I can't see this being a timing chain it's not even done 40k miles and literally been smooth and silent. Still drives like brand new.
Just curious to see if anyone else has had this issue and how screwed I am before I have it recovered to my main dealer as my garage won't touch it now #slopeyshoulders
