Hesitant in talking to people. Need advice
Hi everyone, I m an international master‘s student at TuD and it’s been a few days I came to Dresden. I want to pick up German as early as possible and I’m taking B1 classes these days. I also try listening to podcasts in German and to German music. I really want to talk to the people such as small talk in trams or just not hesitating when I need help. I genuinely want to make friends or get to know people but I overthink the situation and really not interact with the people. I want to ask if anyone knows any volunteer activities where I can interact with people who hopefully won’t mind it. I’ve heard so many things on the internet, that German people are cold, and that the German spoken in Dresden is too fast and hard to learn and I want to learn from my own experience. I don’t want to miss an opportunity because I had a certain image in my head. So, any thoughts people?
