Would a pre-2016 "old school" Taekwondo style adapt well to the modern meta?

If I started coaching tomorrow and taught old-school Taekwondo (the pre-2016 style), but with a modern tactical twist—meaning I'd teach how to counter the current cut kick meta, while keeping the main focus on double kicks, dwi chagi, classic feints, and traditional defense—do you think it could actually work in today's sparring environment?
