Deportation warning letter
Hi I don't know where else to post this so I apologize in advance.
My boyfriend filed for residency in Nürnberg last year in November but we have not received any updates until April this year, when he's received a deportation threat letter (with a Schengen ban for 3 years) unless he submits some documents that apparently were missing in order to issue him the residency.
When he initially had his residency meeting he was assured that he has submitted all the needed documents and now just needs to wait.
After receiving the letter he's since uploaded the needed documents online(all within the deadline they set). But. Now they are not replying to any emails, not picking up phonecalls. His Fiktionsbescheinigung expires in July so in less than 2 months. We don't know what's going on with the case.
We have recently made a decision to leave the country as Germany's bureaucracy is unbearable, aside from other issues.
I'm looking for any advice on how to handle this situation, we have decided to contact a lawyer but I'm wondering if there is anything else we can do and what to expect during the process. The Schengen ban is the most concerning as I am from Poland and we have planned to move to Poland together and get married and live there.
