Silly question: Pet cockroaches as spy “bugs”?
Hello! I apologize if this is considered too off topic for this sub. Mods, please feel free to remove if so.
Anyway, I’m developing a character for a ttrpg who can speak to animals and is an urban espionage operative. She keeps pet roaches, and whenever she needs to do some snooping, she scoops a handful out so they can be her “bugs”. I thought it might be fun for her to be quite passionate about her colony and their care, but I don’t know the first thing about keeping roaches.
So I raise a few silly questions to the passionate people on this sub: What species/variety of cockroach do you think would perform the best as espionage agents? What types of things would a passionate roach keeper say or do in daily life? Are there any small details or vocabulary specific to the hobby that I could use to make her more real?
