Protect Multi-siren idiocy.

Multi-siren idiocy.
(Forced to silence each siren individually)

Does anybody on the UniFi Protect alarm team actually use this stuff day to day in the real world?

Yesterday I discovered that when the alarm is triggered, I have to silence each siren individually. And this is made worse by the fact that, once the alarm is triggered there is no sensible delay giving you time to disarm the system before the sirens start going off.

This is the newest issue, amongst the growing very long list of stuff that needs fixing. I’ve now added multiple sirens because one siren is not enough for a larger property. One is PoE, the others are SuperLink wireless.

So now you are standing there with sirens going off all over the property, trying to use a mobile UI under stress, and instead of one clear “silence all sirens” button, you have to go around silencing them individually.

In what world is that the only sensible real-world workflow?

I understand that in a larger commercial setup, or with a proper zoned alarm or fire alarm system, there may be cases where you want to silence some sirens and not others. Fine. Keep that option when we get smoke alarms or other zoned and fire integrations.

But in a domestic property, or normal residential / small business setup, if the alarm is going off, I need one obvious default action: silence all sirens. Not turn off the alarm and then separately go through each siren one by one to shut them up.

This makes me wonder if anyone on the Protect alarm team is actually using this stuff in their own homes. Because if they did, they would get frustrated and fix basic stuff immediately.

Ubiquiti Inc Please fix this. This is not the feature you think it is. It is a crappy workflow in the real world, and it is a basic alarm system bug along with many others...
