Is my game haunted?
So I'm playing on nomad while screen sharing to my girlfriend over the phone. I just downloaded a new mod and planned on figuring out how it works but while I was playing I started hearing these freaky sounds. Minecraft cave ambience, weird garbled text to speech, distorted roaring. It freaked me out but I kept playing. A while later I leave an npc outside while i go inside to equip some of the mods spells. I then hear a super loud scream followed by a thud, which freaks me out even more, so i go outside and i see the npc decapitated on the floor. I play around with the mod some more and my girlfriend says she saw an npc in the distance for a few seconds.
I thought she was messing with me (because we were both joking about how my game might be haunted, oooooooo) but a while later (and some more weird, infrequent sound effects) I walk down to the travel map and I swear on my life a dark, a-posing npc is standing around the corner, unmoving, for half a second, before disappearing. Ten seconds later an npc falls from the sky along with that same scream from earlier, decapitated.
I'm trying to look into the mod I was using (Dire Wand). It doesn't seem to be a part of that. Yesterday it was completely fine. I've downloaded zero other mods between then. Anyone know what this is or why it's happening??
