Lengthy comment on what Zhongli as a character means to me

Not sure if this fits into Discussion or Fluff better but I'm just gonna put it in Fluff rn. I saw a video on tiktok saying that fictional characters can save lives and everyone sharing their stories of fictional characters basically saved their lives I decided to share mine (I'll take this down if I have to)

Sus Rock Man Ita bag

I guess this goes into art? I normally create multifandom ita bags but I decided to create a shrine to my lord and savior and the only man I'd let order me around my favorite character in Genshin.

EDIT: also I wanna say that I made the rosette for the badge

Is there something you'd like to share with the class, old man?

Why do his pillars look similar to the Moon Waypoints. He just keeps vagueposting and vagueposting, I just wanna grab him by the shoulders and shake him like a madwoman till all the answers to everything he's been edging us on about fall out of his pretty little mouth.

Someone mistook the Zhongli charm on my phone for a different character

So I work as a tech in a physical therapy clinic for context.

One patient came in and we had a conversation that led me to show her my phone case (we were talking about Gravity Falls and my phone case has a sticker of Dipper and Mabel). As I showed her my phone case, she saw my Zhongli charm hanging off it... and she thought it was Zuko from Avatar (the show from Nickelodeon). I corrected her like "it's actually from Genshin Impact!" and we both started laughing about it. And then I said something to the effect of "well they're both peak characters!"

She said she just saw a guy with dark hair dressed in warm colors and thought "hey, it must be Zuko from ATLA" and I said something like, "well, he [Zhongli] is definitely not a fire bender"

I also gushed a bit about Zhongli to her and said how I've been playing Genshin since its launch and how he's been my favorite since the beginning, and how everyone (including me) loves his voice.

About the controversy regarding Kinich's current VA

I'm here to talk about what's going on with Jacob Takanashi, Kinich's current VA.

For context: he is being accused of supporting Vic Mignogna, a voice actor who was blacklisted from the VO industry in 2019 for predatory behavior towards his fans and fellow VAs. He is best known for voicing Edward in Fullmetal Alchemist, Tamaki in Ouran High School Host Club, and Broly in Dragon Ball.

Vic tried to sue his accusers for defamation, but the case fell through and was dismissed. Not because the accusations were proven to be false, but because he couldn't prove he was defamed. In fact, during his lawsuit, multiple people from all over the world submitted affidavits detailing their stories of Vic showing predatory behavior towards them.

Now that that is out of the way, let's see what we have here.

Again, Jacob is being accused of supporting him.

You may say that Jacob said that he wasn't a defender, that no one else on that stage were defenders, and that it was purely professional.

However, these last two statements are wrong.

Besides Jacob and Vic, the people on stage with him in the video on the first slide consist of:

–Jeff Johnson, Vic's best friend.

—Haileigh Todd, one of Vic's girlfriends at the time.

—Tiffany Vollmer, who still follows Vic on instagram.

So yes, they were his defenders.

"But it was purely professional"

This video took place in 2022, three years after Vic was blacklisted from the voice acting industry. By that time, everyone who put up with him cut ties, and did not need to be professional with him anymore. Also, this was promotion for a project meant to revive Vic's career and get him back in the industry.

So I find Jacob's "I'm not a defender" response, to be rather flimsy. You say you're not a defender of Vic's, so why are you working with his friends and then-girlfriend on a project made in association with an extremely controversial convention with the goal of rehabilitating his career and giving him a platform? And why are you still associating with that convention, even going as far as to attend as a guest last year?

I don't trust this second Liyue Buff leak

We literally had this exact same leak in December and who got buffed next? None of the characters who were listed. As much as I want to be proven wrong, I don't want to believe this unless these leakers are reliable, and a lot of people are being EXTREMELY gullible about this.

Do not seperate them, for it is a federal crime

I got back from Europe earlier this week and I bought this whole blind box series from a Pop Mart in Barcelona (my wallet is making a steady recovery)

If Liyue buffs aren't announced by the end of the year, I will level Vortex Vanquisher to 90

Exactly what the title says, I have a Vortex Vanquisher rotting away in my inventory that I'm gonna level to 90 if 2026 ends without Liyue buffs being announced be it through leaks or officially. I made a thread on twitter counting down the days until something like that happens and it's about to reach 150 days. I know it's only July but I feel like I'm gonna have to level it to 90 prematurely so I don't have to do it when December rolls around because let's be real here Hoyo isn't gonna buff the Liyue characters anytime soon 😭😭😭 maybe during Lantern Rite they will but this year's one already passed and the closest thing we got was Lunar Crystallize
