Best sellers of European Medieval coinage as a Canadian? (9th to 12th centuries CE)

I guess we can include Renaissance (16th Century onwards) as well because some in the sub do so, but as a Canadian I find options limited.

I am super interested in large Papal States, French (gros, gros tournois), English, German and Crusader States coinage, but the options in Canada or in places with decent exchange rates seem limited.

You either have collectors in the States (someone kindly suggested Alan Berman in CT, though I would have to do a money order) where I will get slapped with duties and tariffs, or I try CGB/CDMA in France (expensive), MA-Shop fronts, or UK auctions/stores like Spink and get positively shagged by the exchange rates.

Is this just a skill issue living in a country with a weak currency?

    1. Some, like #1 through 3 are in great condition, and can easily fetch more than $10 per book raw
  2. Batman: The Killing Joke 3rd print - will part individually for $40
  3. Green Lantern Emerald Dawn mini-lot (issues #1, 2, 4 and 6) - would prefer these be bundled with others, but $30 for lot

Picked up some lovely silver 'crowns' from CGB, noticed something interesting on the ruble

The 'H' in ЕКАТЕРИНА doesn't seem to have a bridge, making it look like 'I I', do you think it was worn out beyond recognition, or is something else at play here (fake, etc.)? Did Late Antiquity Constantinople have sports betting?

With FIFA and sports betting in full swing right now, I wonder if they had similar ventures in 4th-6th Century CE Constantinople. After all, there is evidence (paraphrasing here) of devout Christians complaining about citizens knowing more about the breeds of horses in the races at the Hippodrome than Scripture. And considering games between the Greens and Blues were a matter of life or death sometimes, surely people must have bet some of their meagre life earnings on them!

If they did, what did it look like? Did they have odds, cashing out, handicaps and the like? Or was it more "this team will win" and the winner gets a share of a big pot pooled with others?

What better way to start off July 4th than with some "junk" silver?

I found these in a junk silver pile at my LCS, I find it to be quite poetic to have found my first ever Morgan silver dollar (I'm a very new collector) and a silver crown bearing the face of SON of the monarch the US defeated.

I cannot for the life of me find anything online about this Year of the Horse coin

Is it gold? Got this when I was younger but I get no hits when I look online. I believe it is a 2014 Year of the Horse Royal Canadian Mint coin, but nothing I see online is 'bent' like this.
