i have no clue on how colouring works.

Hello! Im somewhat of a beginner and ive been wanting to transition to digital art in hopes of animating. My question is what are some things that i should definitively improve my understanding on prior to making the transition to digital? I'm not the best at a lot of things such as colouring, anatomy, perspective and shapes. I'll have some of my better drawings in this thread that can give a better idea to you (the reader) in hopes of giving me advice.
