Outboard Height

Wondering if anyone has experience with outboard height on a tracker grizzly or any mod v jon boat?

Mounted the motor I picked up for the boat today and the bottom of the anti-ventilation plate is sitting about 2 1/2" lower than the bottom of the boat. It's not a big deal to drill some holes and mount it higher with some mounting hardware but thought I'd ask here about positioning before drilling. Is it best to be level with the bottom of the boat or up slightly?

Tracker Grizzly Framing Location

I'm wondering if anyone has torn apart the back bench or knows if there is additional framing in the rear bench of a 2010 Tracker Grizzly 1648. I want to move the rear seat over to the starboard side so it's less awkward to use the tiller. Ideally I'd like the seat base to be fastened to something more than just the bench sheeting. I know there is two framing pieces where I've drawn yellow lines.

Also open to any ideas if there isn't something solid to fasten to.

Importing a boat from USA into Canada

I am looking for information/guidance on self importing a used 1999 16' aluminum fishing boat, trailer and motor into Ontario from the US. I have a friend on mine who is helping with the sale down in the US. I plan on driving down completing the sale and trailering the boat back to Ontario.

I know I need an individual bill of sale for the boat, motor and trailer and signed ownership for the boat and trailer. Just not sure if there is anything else I will need when crossing.

I also saw conflicting information about the export from a US standpoint. Some information say I need to declare the export to U.S. Customs and Border Protection with an Internal Transaction Number (ITN) from the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). But also seeing that towed trailers going to Canada do not need to be filed.

Any information or experience on this would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
