This is a great reference book for natural dye. There is not a formal legend to describe what these symbols mean. There is a small blurb about the empty symbol being “no solution” and the striped one being “alkaline solution.” What does the filled in one mean? What do they mean in relation to each other? It doesn’t say anywhere in the book. Thanks
