Weird request: where can I go to bed in my brakes?
I’m doing a brake job today and if you’re not familiar, when replacing components you need to break in the pads and rotors by doing lots of stop and go driving. Where can I go near Prov where I can get up to 45-50 mph and then come to a stop (several times in a row) without disrupting traffic? I’m thinking like empty parking lots on a sunday, long wide road that is never busy. Any thoughts?
Guess the city. This is a fairly well-known landmark there.
New city and don’t know anybody. How to meet people to play pickleball with?
I’ve tried looking at local facebook group and most of them seem to be just people hawking their “pickleball camps” that they charge you money for. I really just want to meet people and play casually. Any suggestions for how to do so?
Edit: since people are asking, I am in Providence, RI
Was told I should post this here. All the old Bucks schedules my dad collected over the years.
Moving to Providence soon. Where is the best worst beach?
What I mean is, I absolutely love places like Old Orchard Beach and Hampton Beach. They’re so bad they’re good. Wondering where the best/nearest place is to Providence where I can go be the piece of beach trash I was born to be?
Where is your “happy place” in New England?
Recently went to a wedding in coastal southern Maine where the bride and groom said they chose to have it there because it was their “happy place” that they liked to go to together to get away from it all.
What is your happy place in New England? Could be a region, city, town, or establishment. Where do you go to feel right at home, breathe a deep sigh of relaxation, and forget the world?
For me it would have to be the Mountain Region of Maine. It’s so beautiful and life is so quiet and relaxed there. It’s the slow, quaint, pace of life that all the tourists come looking for in the coastal towns of Maine but never find because (ironically) it’s overrun by tourists.
Interviewing with the parent company of a company I used to work for. Need advice
I left on decently good terms. However I had left the specific department I was in due to layoffs, offshoring, and talks of being replaced by AI. I have reason to believe the new job I am interviewing for will be safer and have more job security. Is it acceptable to just be honest about this if they ask why I left? Is there a more diplomatic/corpo way to say all that? Any advice?
