Just found out tonight this guy is afraid of fireworks

I know a lot of dogs of all breeds have this problem but of the half dozen dogs I've had as an adult Buddy is the first one I've had that is legitimately afraid of fireworks.

He was barking last night when he heard them from inside the house and I thought it was another one of his silly quirks. But he was in the backyard about a half hour ago for a toilet break and someone set off a huge series and he was crying at the door. I opened it and he ran to his kennel and hid.

Does anyone else have a Bernedoodle that has the same problem? Is there something you do to help them through it?

And yes, he's a Bernedoodle, that is just his Arizona summer cut.

Just finished the book after watching the movie. The only thing I wished they added...

So I loved PHM so much that I did something I almost never do. I went back and listened to the audiobook.

Usually if I've already seen the movie, I have no interest in taking all the time needed to read the same story over again. But so many people discussed the scientific details that were excluded on this sub that I felt compelled to listen to the book.

I've seen a lot of posts from people listing details they wish had been included. For me, the only thing I wish had made it into the movie was hearing Rocky's voice when he realizes Grace came back for him (and maybe a few details about taking the Hail Mary back to Erid, because that wasn't entirely clear to me).

That moment hit me so hard, and perfectly described the overwhelming joy of realizing his friend came back to save him after believing not only he was doomed, but his entire civilization was doomed. Since the movie (correctly imo) chose to focus on the relationship between Grace and Rocky, I think it's a nice bookend to the earlier scene where Rocky saves Grace.

I actually disagree with the people who wish the movie had included more science. There's only so much exposition you can fit into a movie format before it turns into Grace constantly explaining things to the audience, and the movie already did a lot of that without managing to bog down a 2.5 hour movie.

I think the movie and book compliment each other well in this regard.

Anyway, just my 2 cents and apologies if people mention this all the time. I have read a lot here and hadn't seen this mentioned.

So what happened with Season 7?

So I am watching for the first time and I love the show and am about 5-6 episodes into season 7 and....what happened?

I don't know what I am watching. The first two episodes where he goes missing on the day of his wedding and is gone for 2 months was bizarre. But whatever.

But then there was an invisible suit episode.

And then the icing on the cake. I have been waiting for the Castle/Beckett wedding episode and it happened on an episode where there was a magic amulet ala Indiana Jones that took Castle to an alternate reality where he never met Beckett. Going to be very weird going back and watching that episode to watch the wedding episode, unless I find out 4 episodes from now everything that happened was all part of the magic amulet and they are in another alternate reality that they escape so they can have a different wedding.

The show was fairly grounded and just seemed to go off the rails.

Don't get me wrong, I love the show and still enjoy the chemistry between the characters and Fillion is worth the price of admission on his own, but there is jumping the shark and then there is whatever this is.
