Pictures of my new itty bitty fuzzy friends and a couple of questions.

The first one is a Grammastola pulchripes, like the label says! This little cutie really didn’t want to go I her new enclosure and went on a bit of a walk about. Thankfully I finally got her in there eventually. The second is a Homoeomma chilense my 3 year old named Chili. Like the mom from Bluey. She was a very cooperative little one. The last one is a Hapalopus guerreroi my kiddo names Punky. I wasn’t prepared for how small she is! I think I made her a nice home in the dram bottle. I tried to make a bit of a starter burrow and added some moss for moisture (not just the sphagnum moss in the picture). Should I feed this little one flightless fruit flies? I haven’t had a cutie this small before. Thank you!

Recommendations for inverts that you can handle?

Recently I have really fell down the invert rabbit home in the best of ways. It started out with a small colony of Dairy Cow isopods, which has since grown into two colonies. Then I added 3 tarantulas. I love how easy they are to care for. My 3 year old loves watching the tarantulas and helping me care for the isopods, or as he calls them ‘his buggies’. I usually let him hold an isopod on a leaf above the bin. I occasionally have them chill on my hand too. I was just wondering if anyone had any other recommendations? I have been considering Blue Feigning Death Beetles or maybe a roach colony. I feel a bit guilty with the roaches because I do feed Dubai Roaches to my tarantulas, so making a special colony for pets seems heartless to the feeders.

Meet my newest T, a gorgeous Aphonopelma seemanni.

She is a little adventurer. I adopted her from the amazing Portland Insectarium this weekend. She was given to them in a Kritter Keeper that had feeding ports and unfortunately I must have bumped one of them so it was slightly open. She managed to escape overnight, but thankfully we found her within a few hours under a dresser. Hopefully she will like her new enclosure. No more feeding ports and strong latches! I do have to say she is a total sweetheart. Even with all the drama she never once threat posed or hair kicked, not that I would have blamed her if she had. I love this new little sweetie!
