A few years ago, I listed my memory foam guest room mattress on Facebook marketplace for a decent price, as it was in perfect, but used, condition.
I had an older gentleman ask if he could come to my house to test out the cushion because his wife was particular with how soft it might be. Sure, no problem! As he came by, he said it was perfect, but asked if it could go on a medical bed frame that moved the bed via remote control. I told him I’m not sure, but I don’t think so because it was not made for that when I purchased it.
He told me he would buy it if I discounted it $50 because it does not go on a medical moving bed frame, and that’s what he needs. I told him I would discount it because I needed to get rid of it, but not that much. It also was not advertised as being able to fit on a moving bed frame, so I’m not sure why that was my responsibility to discount it?
He got angry at me that I was not willing to discount it $50 for his needs and his “disabled wife” needs THIS mattress for her moving bed, but I was not providing a guaranteed mattress that would work, therefore I needed to discount it.
Needless to say, I told him it would be better if I did not sell it to him to risk it not working out with his bed frame.
