Help me decide on Boston University vs Emory University
As the title suggests, I am at a crossroads and need help deciding between the two of these schools. I placed my deposit for BU last Friday as that was my deadline, but this Monday I received my acceptance from Emory and I'm honestly shocked that I got in, and now I'm stressing on making the right decision.
For some context Boston University gave me ~$54,000 in scholarships and I would have a paid fellowship, while Emory gave me $30,000 (and I emailed them to appeal for more). I already have student loans from undergrad and would have to use them again to cover the remaining balance for my masters, so I'm not sure if the name/connections of Emory would be worth the extra money in loans?
Additionally, I am a Massachusetts resident so I would be able to live at home during my first semester because the classes are online, which would allow me to save money before moving closer to the city for when in person classes start. However, the cost of living here is astronomical in comparison to Georgia so again I'm not sure what the better trade off would be .
I was OK with settling with BUs program because I honestly do like the flexibility and opportunities it offers but the chance to leave my home state and be able to go to school as highly ranked/prestigious(?) as Emory would honestly be a dream come true as corny as it sounds.
I'm in dire need of some perspective to help me make the decision any and all help or advice is appreciated.
