In order 1 & 2) Frimousse and 3) Posey - both from Schreiner’s Gardens.

We had rain and wind for a few days that knocked down many of my Iris. I was able to prop up most and got away with minimal damage (whew).

There is one more late Iris I’m waiting on - Gulfport. It’s huge and striking. The snails did a number on it earlier and I’m thankful I got to them before the bloom stalks started to emerge. We have sunshine for the next number of days - just need to be patient.

First one: Black is Black
Second: “unknown”

Both are from Schreiner’s Gardens. I need to look through their web site to see if I can find my “unknown”. Any suggestions?

All of these are from Schreiner’s Gardens in Salem OR. They are an easy drive from us and they have a huge viewing garden open this time of year. First one is Dazzle. This one didn’t bloom for me last year and I’m tickled to see her this year. There are three other bloom stalks of her. The next is Better than Butter - such a heavy bloomer last year and this. Happenstance follows - I posted this one earlier - was the first to open and there are more bloom stalks than I can count. Last is a peony that just opened and I couldn’t resist including it (sorry- ok, not really 😉). Next to Better than Butter is Black is Black which will open likely tomorrow. All of these varieties put up at least two buds per stalk - some have three. Each bud is really two - a second bloom follows after the first one fads - have to be very careful dead-heading!
