[All] Playing Through all the Zelda games, my list so far. Thoughts?

Links awakening [remake]
I love this game because it is an inversion of the “it was all just a dream” trope. It all being just a dream actually makes the stakes higher. The loss at the end made me emotional, and I was amazed by how small but rich this game is. Everything works. 10/10.

BOTW
This was the first Zelda game I ever played, and only one game I’ve played so far is better. It is perfection of its genre. I don’t really have more to say other than this is the game I felt most captured the adventure I want to feel from a Zelda game. 9/10

Ocarina of Time
They really nearly perfected 3D on their first try. It has great dungeons, amazing aesthetics, and the time mechanic is a lot of fun to work with. It is a little bit too by the books story wise for me to move upwards, and has some notable flaws, but overall an amazing entry. 8.5/10

A link to the past
There is no flaw in this game. It does everything it does perfectly. To me, this game is what Zelda is if you boiled it down to its essential parts. It is the trope, the origin. However, I think it’s the most flat of all the games I’ve played story wise, and doesn’t stick out as much as the games above. 8.25/10

Majoras mask
I desperately wanted to rank this game higher. The aesthetics, grief, and ending of this game are divine. However, it doesn’t work as well as a game for me. The time mechanic graded on me, especially as I just wanted to explore. It was cool how the stories and side quests interacted with each other, but at times waiting (even with time skipping) for a quest to become active was not super fun for me. The dungeons were a low point, although the actual biomes were very cool, and honestly a lot of this game is more fun to hear about than it is to play. It is a good game with a fantastic vibe, but the story itself isn’t fleshed out to the point where I think the fans interject storylines in to this game that really are just themes. I don’t agree with a lot of the fan theories, because to make this game sound cooler they skip massive essential details. The ending was my favorite part, being in that moon and letting go of all the masks to be “the bad guy”. That alone almost shot this game up some spots! 7.5/10

Zelda 1
I played this game for an hour and then put it down. It was probably a masterpiece when it came out, but it just was not a fun game for me. I hate to say it. DNF/10

Zelda 2
I played this game for about thirty minutes. Could not stand the aesthetics, mechanics, any of it. I’m sorry if you love this game I don’t think I can come back to it. DNF/10
