I'm about to treat my daughter to her first watch of this absolute classic. As a wean, I was mesmerised by the spaceship.

Does anyone else remember the weetabix tapes? I had three, my favourite, having tears for fears on. I also still have the Spectrum game from weetabix tokens.
The excitement of collecting the tokens was superb, and my gran and great auntie used to buy whichever brand had an interesting promotion to save the tokens for me. When she had enough, it was off the post office for a wee postal order to send with the tokens, then the nervous wait.
She got me an Andrex puppy wee soft toy from the bog rolls that I still have in the loft.

The walkman was superb, even though the batteries ran out sharpish and made the tape sound demonic. Our old top loader video was extremely posh with a wee remote. Unfortunately the remote was on a cable that plugged into the machine and didn't reach the sofa.
I love all this stuff and although it sounds soppy, it makes me feel a wee bit homesick for the time period when I see it.
