Kamski Test and its influence on/reactions from Connor and Hank
Finally playing this game, since I was able to grab the QD bundle for $10 on Steam. Just finished the Kamski test and... i'm underwhelmed by every reaction to sparing the Chloe android.
YES, Connor's purpose is to accomplish the mission of preventing a deviant uprising. However, as an android, it is physically impossible for him to act against instructions without mentally breaking through his programming - we see this in both of the other protagonists.
Against the entire game's premise of "deviating being an action and choice," when CHOOSING to spare the android, we're not forced to break through programming -- I attribute this to the fact that Hank tells you NOT TO SHOOT HER and to LEAVE. But when you do leave, Hank asks why you didn't shoot her and Connor talks about ... her humanity? Instead of saying "You told me not to!" like an android with sense. He was listening to a directive given by his assigned human, which surely is more important than his own wishes -- as we see when given the choice to fight back as Markus aaaaall the way back in chapter 8.
This is less of an opinion and more of my suffering from the David Cage Effect in this game. Ugh.
