New ho locomotive with knuckle couplers, or new parts sourcing?

I currently have a lot of rolling stock with knuckle couplers that looks like it would be difficult or impossible to transition to the current style of ho coupler (kadee couplers?). Mostly, rolling stock from the bicentennial and around that vintage, so 50 year old cars.

In particular, I have a complete set of the lifelike 13 original colonies, tyco spirit of 76 boxcars, and passenger cars, I'd like to see rolling instead of on a shelf.

It looks like all new locos from any reputable brand come with the kadee style coupler. Are these going to be easy to replace with a knuckle coupler? Are there any brands that still use a knuckle coupler?

Alternatively, is there a reliable source of parts to fix old tyco locos? Between the old traction tire style of truck and generally poor performance of these 50 year old locos, I'm at a loss of repairing, or trying to fing a new engine to shell with the old good shells, or just throw in the towel and get a modern DC line-up.

Wading Birds [oc]

Was testing out a teleconverter for the first time on a Sigma 60-600mm Sport. The autofocus had a hard time with the teleconverter, so no action shots with it on, but the wading birds made for a perfect stationary model to test it out.
