Is there a word for a landform that is an island only at high tide but connects to the mainland at low tide? In English or another language?

Hello! We're coming to Port Douglas in late July with our 3 teenage boys and trying to decide on the best Great Barrier Reef trip for for us. Outer Reef or inner island tour? Other advice? About us: the boys are good swimmers and have snorkeled some before. One boy tends to be somewhat anxious with snorkeling and all newish things. He also has some trouble staying interested and involved in activities for longer time periods. We don't want his issues to keep us from doing something amazing but also don't want to give him a really rough day. My wife is very motion sickness prone but can control it usually with meds. We will be on Magnetic Island later in the trip so will get to shore snorkel but this will be our one big offshore snorkeling trip. We all love nature and wildlife and seeing cool creatures. Thank you greatly in advance for any advice! We're very excited!!!
