So now that Seattle has made him a trade candidate, would he be someone you would wanna trade for? If the oilers wanna play Drai and McDavid together, then having him as a second-line center would be great. He is very young and definitely can play much better than he does in Seattle. He also leaves them with enough cap space for additional moves before becoming an RFA next year.

I would assume bowman asks for his price but we are in the same conference so i doubt the kraken would trade with edmonton.

The Hellebuyck market might be thinner than people think. Carolina makes the most sense because they have the assets and cap flexibility, but even that reported Nikishin, Nadeau and 1st package is not some untouchable offer.

Florida probably lacks the cap and assets after the Brady Tkachuk trade. Vegas would need major money out. Dallas has cap constraint with rob. San Jose has the space and picks, but a 33-year-old goalie does not really fit their timeline. Maybe buffalo and maybe the blues.

That is why I do not think Edmonton is impossible, just very unlikely. If Nurse is moved with little or no retention and Winnipeg is willing to take futures/prospects, Hellebuyck would fit the Oilers’ window perfectly. The biggest issue is whether Hellebuyck would waive for another Canadian market, even with McDavid and Draisaitl.
