This is a vent, so I don’t need advice, but I was so frustrated about this yesterday, and I thought others might experience this as well, so I wanted to share.

Also, I‘m aware, this is just me whining about total first world SFP problems, and I probably sound so annoying, but I was just really frustrated and need to get this off my chest. If you read this, pretend it’s my diary entry for the day. 🤪

As you can see, I‘m currently at level 72, and one of my level-up-requirements is to improve my town’s value.

Years ago, I found and used a multiplication glitch that gave me 65k copies of every item I used the glitch on; unfortunately, this glitch has long since been patched. Since then, I just sell thousands of these items, of which I still have so many in my inventory, to make money in the game, so I can build as many houses as I want, participate in all events, and enjoy the game fully. I‘m so grateful that I found this glitch, even only weeks before it was patched, and that I was clever enough to use it on as many items as I possibly could.

However, every item I sell reduces my town value in the exact same amount. I do not understand how that correlates, but I accepted it. If it weren’t for this b, my town value would probably be hundreds of millions (if it could go there?), with the amount I build. Again, I accepted it, and it usually only becomes an issue when tasks like this occur.

Even though I already checked all town value levels at least once, since my current town value is usually around 0 to 10 million Simoleons, this task re-occurs whenever new levels are added to the game. But since I had already checked every town value level, I can’t get the rewards, and I know from experience that I can only check this task by improving my town value to 100 million Simoleons.

I can complete this task by building, looting and trashing all the houses I‘ve won in events or bought as AHs. I absolutely prefer to build my own houses and really only use AHs or event houses for this purpose; looting, and in case I have to improve my town value. So I have been preparing and „saving“ since the last time I had this task, and I‘m completely fine, I can do it, no problem. It’s just a little time intensive, but I can manage.

This is where my frustration kicked it: When I walked through all the houses I could build, loot and trash, I saw that the two houses I already unlocked by upgrading the Real Estate Agency - the Zen Oasis and Rosewater Mansion - added a town value of about 20 million each! I was so elated that I could use them and 1) save some time, and 2) save more of the other houses for later, when this task might come back (to haunt me). So first, last night, I built all my saved up AHs for Standard lots, and accumulated a town value of 32 million Simoleon - that alone were 19 houses and took me more than two hours, using the 10-second-lot (while doing the events and household stuff). 💪🏻 It was late and I wanted to go to bed, so I decided to switch to building the oceanview lots of these two unlocked houses, to „quickly“ add 41 million Simoleon to my town value, so that I would only have to build another few oceanview lots tomorrow (today). I was so happy and eager to see my town value jump from 32 million to 53 million in just a few seconds by building the Zen Oasis, and was completely shocked when that didn’t happen. At first I thought I must be too tired and not understanding, I closed the app and re-opened, but the number. stayed. the. same. It was my fault to be so happy and eager in anticipation, bc I felt an enormous emotional crash. I know, I know, way too much intensity and investment for a silly little game, but still. So, instead of crashing out, I decided to finish for the day and try again tomorrow (today).

It didn’t change, and it was the same result after building the Rosewater Mansion. After that, I tried building an event house, and that finally - luckily - worked. So I will be able to reach the goal and complete the task. I have absolutely no worries about that. Just so much frustration over being promised an added town value of 41 million Simoleon, and getting absolutely nothing (except for the items I looted from the houses).

I can not find how to complete this task, maybe somebody already did it and knows how?

The translation is:

In the second picture, you can see that my plants do not offer any SimChase tasks atm, from the first picture you can see that I‘ve finished all but the long one and the 2-hrs reading of the SimChase rules; in the third picture, you can see that this task is still available, marked with the SimChase icon.

I was thorough and tried all the other items in my event house, as sometimes, the translation is just bad - the trees (obviously), chairs, sofas, the tv, the stereo, the magazines, the closet, stoves, fridges, the barbecue grill, coffee machines, sinks, bookshelves, computers, telephones. I even went to the club where Kam Ham is and checked everything there; I went to the town‘s park where the mastery lessons are, to see if there was anything. I googled and watched a few YouTube videos, but this wasn’t mentioned anywhere.

I‘m trying to go to bed and have my sim do this long task while I sleep, so any help would be very appreciated!

I was wondering if this is a bug, bc - even though I like this house - I don’t see why it would be this expensive. On a standard lot! Also, compared to the value it adds to the town, this price just doesn’t make any sense.

Could someone else, who has unlocked this house template, please check if theirs is as expensive? If it is, it would be at the far end of your house build catalogue. If it isn’t, I can show this to the support team and hopefully get it fixed.

In a discussion underneath an earlier post today, u/Sea_Finger5409 and I realised that it’s mostly Android users that do not have a functioning overview on which items unlock on which new level. So I wanted to share what I as an iPhone user see.

I‘m on lvl 66 now, so I already unlocked one or two items.
