Was Kyle's sacrifice unneccessary?

Near the end of the movie, we see him and Sarah running and hiding from terminator in that factory, when he manages to find them. At first, they seem to be cornered, but they are still able to go up some stairs and there is even some walkway, when you climb up, that leads somewhere.

Surely, Kyle wanted to distract terminator a bit by hitting him with that pipe, to buy Sarah some time, but after terminator bitch-slapped him, I don't think it was neccessary for him to blow him up, thus killing himself in the process.

Terminator was already slow and badly damaged, they could've just run as far as possible from him. I get that this was all done "for the movie to happen", but I am curious about what others think about this?

Is anyone else also annoyed by the stubborn up-sell banner?

I am on Plus plan for over a year now, perhaps even two.

Recently I noticed these popup banners appearing whenever I start new chat or when I continue a previous one. They used to be one per chat session, but now it seems they appear with every answer I get from chat.

It is supper annoying that I need to close it constantly and even more frustrating that there is no option in settings to disable this.

Has anyone dealt with this somehow? I certainly do not intend to upgrade to $200+ plan, thank you very much.
