A good game but the turnovers irked me a bit. He'll have to work on it but it was overall a GOOD showing.

REMINDER - 2026 Summer League starts soon July 3rd
The 2026 NBA Summer League takes place from July 3 to July 19, featuring a slate of off-season basketball tournaments where all 30 NBA teams showcase their rookie, sophomore, and G League affiliate rosters. The event is broken into preliminary showcases and the main Las Vegas tournament.
Preliminary Showcases
Before the main event, early summer league games are hosted in two regional hubs:
California Classic: Hosted in Sacramento (July 4–6) and San Francisco (July 3, 5–6).
Salt Lake City Summer League: Hosted by the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City from July 4–7.
Main Las Vegas Summer League
The premier showcase takes place on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion.
Dates: July 9–19
Format: All 30 teams will play 76 total games. Each team plays four preliminary games before the top four seeds advance to the playoffs, concluding with the Championship Game on July 19.

Can Darius Acuff ever, like, EVER become an Average defender at the NBA level?
I mean, I understand that he has a 6'7 wingspan. But all that doesn't matter when you can't stay in front of your man and make very basic defensive mistakes possession after possession. At a certain point i do think the concerns are valid. All of these were in the same game.
He has to improve his anticipation. You can see he gets a little jumpy or choppy with his feet. But the main issue isn't just that he looks sometimes a bit clueless out there, but the body language is just not locked in.
I still have hope that he won't be a complete negative. But i don't see a world in which he is ever a decently good defender in the NBA. These players are faster, longer, smarter, and better than these guys. They will attack him. It won't be pretty if he does not improve.
