Wyde Maia Strap - back strap way too short. Just me?
I ordered the Wyde Maia Strap in black, size 40, for 250mm feet. The footbed seems about the right length but even on the longest hole the back strap pushes my feet wayyyy forward so that there's loads of room behind my heels (about an inch plus) and my toes poke off the end. On the longest hole the straps are far shorter than the footbed and on the shortest hole they're just ridiculous. Even if I added more holes, the straps aren't long enough to go through the buckles properly at the correct position. When I bought these I figured I could just cut the back straps off if I didn't like them, but they're so wide (they feel like oars on my feet) that my feet slide around like nobody's business. Ugh. Maybe once my big toes splay out a little they might be alright? Idk. I guess I'll have to pay return shipping to Sweden. :(((((( I tried on Birkenstocks in a similar size before I bought these, because people say they have a similar fit, but they fit the shape of my foot so much better. Except that the toe bar was too far forward, they were completely inflexible, heavy bricks, and I worry that the arch support might get annoying after a while. But at least they had black buckles. The silver is so garish. I thought I wouldn't mind it but it clashes with my gold jewellery. Sighhhhh. Sorry for the long post. Any suggestions? i know there are other options in similar styles but I'd really like a 10-15mm stack height.
