My reaction to Technoblade's death.

Okay so, it's officially been 4 years now (wow.)

I'm not sure why I'm talking about this again, I have mentioned it to other friends before but most of my friends aren't fans of him in the way I am or was back when it was announced so I felt like maybe telling my story here would help me, since this is a community about him and all.

Anywho; for context, I didn't really watch his Techno all that much before his death. I was kind of a fan, but I had learned about him from DSMP and only ever managed to catch one stream (the Jailbreak one) and watched maybe two or three videos of his. (Ironically enough, one of them was his very last one back in April 2022 I think?)

The day he died I had gotten my phone taken away a few hours prior to "so long nerds" being uploaded because I had been up too early using it and my dad didn't like it lol. Anyway, I snuck down the stairs to get it back and grabbed it to check my notifications when he went to the bathroom. One of the first messages I saw was from my very good friend, and it was about Techno, asking me whether I had seen what happened with him. Obviously, I hadn't, and she told me to go check his channel, so I did. The first video that pops up; "so long nerds". I was about to click on it, and then I got another notification, from a server I was in. Again, about Techno, but this time it was an announcement. And it mentioned his death for the first time, linking the video in it. I was in shock, kinda denial maybe? So I click on the video. I wasn't even a minute in, but the moment I heard "if you're watching this, I'm dead." I was in tears. I watched the rest of the video sobbing and by the time it ended I was a mess.

The rest of the day I was inconsolable, I was crying a lot, to the point where both my mom and grandma got concerned. I wasn't sure why, he was a YouTuber I barely watched.

Now I think it feels personal, because I had lost my other grandmother a year prior and depsite me not watching Techno, he still felt like he played a big role in my life.

Since then, I've become a bigger fan, and I've watched a lot more of his content.

It feels surreal, being able to hear his voice, and realising he's not actually there. And that there won't be another video he ever speaks in.

But I'm glad we at least got to know his internet persona, even for a short period of time. He genuinely sounds like a wonderful guy, and I wish I could say this to him in person.

Technoblade never dies, rest in peace, king. 👑🗡

Happy Birthday, Mr. Technoblade!

I Will Unfortunately Not Be Able To Do Much To Celebrate Today As My Advanced Math Final Is Tomorrow (And A Girl Has To Revise), But I'll Be Sure To Listen To Techno Fansongs Tonight To Boost My Confidence :-]. Happy Birthday Again, Techno.
