We got a Great Pyrenees almost 3 years ago as a puppy from the pound. When a family member got her she was exposed to parvo and he didn’t know what that was until I explained it to him after reading her paper work and later found out she had distemper as well. She’s happy and healthy but does become territorial with some places, kitchen table, under swamp cooler) and after introducing another pup to the family a year and a half after that she was fine until they ate she protected her food from the other dog but never aggressive towards us. Now we have a little one and I fear she would be aggressive towards her. She doesn’t listen to commands and bolts out at any moment so I fear she will run through my daughter when the day comes. Do trainers help? I had to rush home because she ran out through my wife’s legs and almost made her drop my daughter, luckily I got her but I fear one day I won’t be so lucky
