Meanwell 12V 350w unbearable noisy

TLDR: Is anyone using the meanwell 12V 350W, how noisy is it??

Hello all,

I have access to 3d printers and I have completed this build:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/2780951-amd-bc-250-industrial-style-compute-case-v1-0#profileId-3090664

Printed everything in ABS. The built itself is quite nice, although there are some minor nuissances (left unnecesary supports, holes too small for some screws, etc). Also, I think that having cables protruding from BOTH sides of the case is at least debatable.

My question if anyone has built it and have it working, how is the MeanWell 12V 350W working? Mine starts the fan after a few minutes and it will NEVER stop afterwards, also, it is painfully, awfully noisy.

My ambient temp if pretty high at 34ºC at the moment, so, sure that's a factor to take into account, but is this really the way this powersource works?

I will have to move to a bigger ATX dessign if this is the case (pun intended).

The BC250 is surprisingly nice, although I installed the BC250_P5clv_8core_v2.ROM bios and I can't for the life of me find a simple "boot from USB" option/command in there.

I have managed to install cachyOS, I would like to test it with steamOS but it does not recognize the usb with the image.

CEC and remote play?

Hello, this probably sounds silly, but if I want to remote play with the TV off (on my steamdeck), do I need to disable CEC?

or can the TV be shutdown when you are "remoting" to the machine? My CEC works pretty well, meaning that the TV/machine shuts down and start the other, so I am guessing that if I am playing remotely and then I shutdown the tv... the machine will go to sleep?

Additionally, would there be any way to wake the machine to play remotely again, without making the TV on?

Unrelated: why the frag would samsung put the HDR enable under devices and not under screen settings?? AAAARRJJJJ!!!!

Rate of deliveries slowing down

https://preview.redd.it/ij09pknudjhh1.png?width=1035&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4f429c8240e9fceb66da780c2e3ce07982e7b54

Hello everyone, as the mods are removing the "I gotme a SM" posts, and I don't think we have a clear visual (pun intended) of the current situation, I have made two graphs showing:

Number of reports per day

Percentage of machines delivered (actually that's just offered)

(yes, the data is from that site that should not be named)

These are the number of people that has reported that they moved from reserved/waitlist to invited, and the percentage that they represent from the total of people.

We can clearly see that the number of reports, as well as the curve until the 11 of July is much higher than the current one, with a very peak the 26th that did not change the tendency of the curve afterwards.

I have seen some people asking if the deliveries are going at the same speed and even someone asking if everyone already got their machine (!!!). Well, here is the response.

I have mixed all the machines this graphs, but it will not come to the surprise of anyone in the 512 queue that the deliveries there are even slower reaching only a 26.8% of the users, while the rest of the models are:

512 controller at 47.5%

2tb 61.5%

2tb controller 54.9%

So, if you want to joning the queues, your best bet would probably going for the 2tb model.

I would also like to mention another thing, I have said in the past that the 2tb model is more expensive than replacing the 512 with a 2tb drive... That is also starting to reverse, the continue increase of prices for the NVME drives are starting to make the prices match (as of this week).

No AI was used in this crappy post.

Can someone explain the six months wait to deliver?

Edit: as I see people still answering this, it is clear that valve only has secured the number of units for the lottery, but those units may still be in production hell, and that's the reason it will still take 6 months for some of us.

I interpreted it differently when I read/heard it obviously.

------

Sorry to beat the dead horse even more, but there's one detail about all this that I simply don't understand.

If valve has a batch of machines as they say, why is it gonna take six months to deliver them?

I understand that if they have to rely on the ongoing production that will take a long time, but at least the way the expressed it always sounded like they have machines to cover all the lottery winners.

So if there's a physical machine on a warehouse for each lottery winner why is it gonna take six months to clear that?

Why is it always like that? Same with the deck, same with every piece of hardware...

Edit: for context, yes, I am trying to get the damn controller.
