Trying to add a hammer arrestor to my irrigation system

Trying to add a hammer arrestor to my irrigation system

Let me preface this by saying that I know I’m an idiot.

Every valve in my sprinkler system causes water hammer that jostles the crap out of my backflow arrestor and it causes issue with unions for a flow sensor installed downstream. I cut the pipe going into the tee for the first valve box (there are two more right behind it) and added another tee going into a class C hammer arrestor. I then reconnected it to the supply with two 45s instead of a 90 and a straight coupling, mostly because a 90 would’ve been a tighter fit in that spot.

This setup doesn’t seem to help. I was trying to set this up so I didn’t bring anything any closer to the foundation and I wanted to be able to put a valve box in to protect the threaded connections and allow for easier replacement if it ever needs to be done. I’m wondering if this is just a bad design, if I need to spring for something like a Spears tee to avoid having fittings, or something else entirely.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

For those no longer employed as a BA, what are you doing to survive?

I’ve got over ten years in business analysis across several industries, but this is the worst job market I’ve ever seen. My wife is telling me to start showing up at day labor places if I can’t find anything. Meanwhile, two months of non-stop applying have only gotten me two responses and one interview, for a position which apparently was never been meant to be filled.

Has anyone found a different career path that BA skills transfer to and doesn’t require a degree? Or gone all the way down to entry level and be taken seriously? I’m at my wits end, but it’s legitimately starting to feel like this market wants no part of me anymore. Everything I’ve thought to look at that’s related, I’m either way overqualified or under qualified for, and they’re not responding either.
