6x3 raised bed with greenhouse tent cover

Substrate is mostly orchid bark with a little organic top soil for the planted areas. There’s a spider plant, some wheat grass, and I’ve scattered some more grass and corn seeds to hopefully sprout in there.

Temperature gradients range from high 80s on the far sides to high 90s in the center. Maintaining 80-90% humidity throughout the day thanks to the greenhouse tent.

UVB light to come as I need to order a much larger one for this set up, but the fella does get access to outside time for natural UVB to compensate while weather is still good.

I wanted to upgrade to a much larger enclosure sooner rather than later because I know I’m going to be pretty occupied with other projects come my torts first birthday. Thought my fellow tort cohorts would appreciate seeing one of these raised bed greenhouse combo set ups as it seems they’re not only popular but very accessible compared to some other closed chamber enclosures for the smaller species. I have a little more work to do to this before I’m 100% satisfied but figured i’d share anyways!

Last thing I’ll add is that orchid bark is just Douglas fir bark, and organic Douglas fir bark mulch is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper in the garden section than orchid bark/reptibark. Cannot recommend that enough when trying to fill such a big area.

Thanks for looking! 🌷🌟
