Front USB-C is back! A few days ago, I mentioned that I was considering removing it because I didn’t like the contrast between the silver USB-C port and the front cutout. However, I’ve now received some “better” pictures without flash, and I honestly have to say that I actually like it.

On top of that, the factory was able to find a source for black/dark USB-C ports after all. If the pricing works out, I may even be able to go with black front USB-C ports!

The post also includes a few pictures of the C4-SFX v2 and C4-mATX v1. Once I have the prototypes here with me, I’ll take some better pictures myself!

Unfortunately, there is a slight delay with the C4 prototypes because there is currently no way to source USB-C ports with a black housing instead of a silver one. The silver finish looks far too dominant against the black cutout and, in my opinion, does not fit the overall aesthetic of the design.

Because of this, I decided to remove the front USB ports entirely and place only the power button there instead. Fans of minimalist designs will probably appreciate this change. Unfortunately, those who prefer front USB access will now need to rely on the motherboard I/O instead.

DAN Cases GmbH was founded 10 years ago today. The journey began in 2016 with the A4-SFXv1, which played a key role in establishing the sandwich layout within the SFF segment. In 2022, we launched our first collaboration with Lian Li: with the A4-H2O, we made the sandwich layout more affordable and accessible to a wider audience.

In 2023, we reimagined the “reversed classic layout” with the C4-SFX, setting new standards in the SFF space as well as in GPU cooling. Just a year later, in 2024, another collaboration with Lian Li led to the A3-MATX, which has since become one of the most popular cases on the MFF market.

This year also brings exciting developments: our third collaboration with Lian Li, the B4-MATX, is planned for Q2 and will support both vertical and horizontal desk orientations. Later in the year, the C4-SFXv2 and C4-MATX will follow, combining compact volume with high compatibility and strong cooling performance in their respective categories.

Finally, I would like to sincerely thank all supporters, readers, partners, as well as my family and friends. It has been an exciting and rewarding 10 years with DAN Cases—and I look forward to what lies ahead.
