Advice for Our First Ohana Festival Trip

Advice for Our First Ohana Festival Trip

 Hi Everyone,

So, my dad dreams officially came true — I raised an amazing Pearl Jam fan! I knew all those years of playing PJ while he was growing up would eventually pay off.

This year, I’m planning to take my 13-year-old son to his very first concert, and I want to make sure it’s Pearl Jam at the Ohana Festival on 9/27. Neither of us has ever been to the festival before, so I was hoping to get some advice and recommendations from those of you with experience.

We’re traveling on a pretty tight budget and were only able to purchase single-day admission for Sunday, 9/27. We’ll be arriving on 9/26 and heading home on 9/28, coming from central Cali.

I’ve been looking at hotels near the venue, but prices are definitely on the higher side. I’m considering booking something farther away to help keep costs manageable, trying to stay for no more than $600/night for 4 of us. For those who have attended before:

  • Are there any nearby areas you’d recommend staying in that are more budget-friendly?
  • Is the venue fairly easy for drop-off and pick-up? My wife and daughter are joining us on the trip but won’t be attending the festival.
  • Suggested drop off/pickup location?
  • Any recommendations on what we should bring into the venue (if allowed) to make the day more comfortable?
  • Any other tips or advice for first-time attendees?

I really appreciate any insight or recommendations you can share. Thank you all in advance!
