x52 pro getting repeated inputs - what to pick up next?

Hey all,

Just looking for a little advice. I bought a saitek x52 pro a good 10/11 years ago, its had a couple of problems in that time. The throttle started clicking and wouldn't allow to be pushed past a certain point which I took it to bits and removed a small piece of plastic to allow the full range of motion again, joystick started getting drift eventually so I set deadzones in the software to circumvent it. The thing that's finally killed it for me is it doing multiple inputs from the silver hat on the joystick which is quite annoying.

I only really play Elite Dangerous and mostly in VR so I'm after a bit of advice with that in mind.

I've had more than my money's worth out of it so have no problems whatsoever with replacing it but I'm a bit at a loss for what to pick up to replace it with. I've heard that since logitech bought out saitek that the x52 kinda blows now. I'm based in the UK and I'm wondering the kind of sticks I can look at over here? VKB sticks and throttle look decent but I'm not sure they have enough buttons on for everything that needs mapping on Elite Dangerous?

I can't find a lot of material specific to Elite frustratingly other than videos from 5-10 years ago.
