What’s your wildest play this past weekend of baseball?

One of my smallest and weaker kid is up to bat. He bunts one down the third base line. E5 error followed by an E3 giving him a triple, lol.

Our Gamechanger mom scored it as a triple.

Next up, they expect him to bunt again and I give him the green light to swing away, smacks a blooper over the second baseman’s head

He steals 2nd on an E2 throw into the outfield, he’s hustling to 3rd and like a cartoon, he slides head first into 3 base, came up a foot short, helmet goes flying off, and belly flops to touch the base to be safe.

Wild weekend for the kid.

Update - coolant looks stable

This afternoon with the sun shining, I decided to take it for a spin through all range of the RPM and speed.

No warning lights whatsoever. I’ll check the coolant level tomorrow after it cools overnight.

Coolant temps an oil temps are within normal range.

Thank you to the couple guys who mentioned having to top off as the air escapes out.

Update -

Finally got the car back after about 2.5 weeks.

There’s some bore scoring in cylinder #1 but once the plugs were removed and new ones installed the ticking went away. He thinks the plugs were removed at some point and incorrectly torqued.

Coolant system was pressurized and tested and there was a leak at the cap. That was replaced and coolant flushed and filled.

I get it and yesterday was a nice 80 degree day in the Midwest. Top down and I start driving back home taking the long way. I’m 10 minutes from home and this popped up. Argh!!!

I left the car in the Walmart parking lot and hitched a ride home. Came back 4 hours later and added about 1.5 liter of mixed coolant to get the float in the middle.

Hoping that’s it. Will try and drive it spirited again later after travel baseball.

So here’s what I had done .

  1. Diagnose leaking coolant.
    2.Flush and fill new coolant
    3.replace shifter cables
    4.bore scoped engine
  2. Replaced 6 new spark plugs

Total damage $3,400

Maximum Sadness

Got my Boxster out of Storage a month ago, took it for a spirited drive and leaked coolant. Has been in the shop since.

Took it to a Indy shop that specializes in Porsches.

Getting new Numeric shifter cable installed, new coolant tank and fill, 6 new plugs and coils.

While driving it around he heard a ticking noise.

Please keep my Boxster in your prayers.

When do you throw in the towel?

League rule is 2 hours. Last year you couldn’t start a new inning with less than 10 minutes left in the game. We are in a new league this year. 11U C level league.

Friday night, it’s 15 - 13 going into the 5th inning, they add 3 more runs so it’s 18 - 13 bottom of the 5th inning, we finish batting with literally 2 minutes left. I was ready to call the game but in hindsight was hoping to get 3 quick outs and but that didn’t happen. They added 7 more runs with a 3 run homer.

At this point, it’s still 0 outs, the sun is setting below the horizon and it’s getting harder to see.

I threw in the towel for my boys as I didn’t see us even after making 3 outs getting a chance to bat as the sun would have set.

You more experienced coaches, should I have let them continue to get pummeled or was it wise to call it?

It was a hot humid muggy Autumn morning. I had to work that Saturday and I needed to drive over to a bigger city 2 hours away to grab some panels for work. I work in construction and I wanted to grab it when they opened first thing at 7am.

I woke up at 4am got ready and was about to put my work boots on. I heard a voice to not wear my boots that morning and keep my sandals on.

I thought about it and decided I’ll toss it in the back of my truck and just keep my sandals on.

After I picked up my panels, I was ready to hit the freeway to leave the city when I saw a man who was homeless and only had 1 shoe on.

I made a u-turn and asked him if he was ok. He explained he had hurt his left toe and couldn’t wear shoes and that’s why he only had 1 shoe. Asked him what size he wore, it was the same size as mine.

My sandals were open toe sandals and right there I offered him my sandals knowing it would protect his feet and help his toe heal.

God heard his prayers. God needed me to offer him my sandals that morning and I’m grateful I listened.

God is real and I know he’s out there helping us.

Be kind to each other. Love one another.
