Recruitment
Hello everyone,
I hope it’s okay for me to post here even though I’m not currently a staff member. I’m a recent MSc Biomedical Science graduate and I’m currently applying for Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) roles.
I’ve applied to multiple positions, but I’m either being unsuccessful at the shortlisting stage or receiving no response at all. I’m trying to understand what I might be doing wrong.
I’m a fresh graduate and, unfortunately, I don’t have professional laboratory experience yet. I have a BSc in Microbiology and have just completed my MSc in Biomedical Science, so I do have an academic laboratory background, but I’m wondering whether the lack of NHS/pathology work experience is making my applications less competitive.
If there are any NHS recruiters, hiring managers, current MLAs, or recent graduates here, I’d really appreciate some honest advice, thank you.
