The remaining locations
For part 3, how do you think they will handle the remaining locations?
Here's what I think:
Wutai - I think it will be huge and will take place near the end of the game. Perhaps just before the return to midgar
Rocket Town - I think it seems best as the opening location, also having it's own region. Some people think that it will come much later when the party revisits it in the OG for space, but I'd rather it came sooner because Cid needs more time to develop from his backstory
Space - I suspect it will just be confined to the rocket and escape pod, but will be very heavy for cutscenes
Mideel - Probably be it's own region. Though it's another jungle like gongaga is, so they will have to differentiate it from that somehow. Perhaps use different kinds of trees or make it more beach-like. I think Dr Sheeran will move here from Corel
Fort Condor - I predict it will be epic, because there has been so much build up to it with the board game. It is probably an ancient place not visited by outsiders for years. A huge battle will take place here
Bone Village - Some people think it's lost it's chance to appear now, but I don't want them to cut any locations. I think it will be where we dig up the key to the city of the ancients altar thing (the key that was underwater in OG)
Icicle Inn - Will be part of the wider snowy region, and the main settlement of said region
Great Glacier - Maybe an "open-air" style dungeon (like what Mt Corel was in Rebirth)
Holzofs house and Gae cliffs - The house will be small but I expect Holzoff to have more character development. The cliffs and caves within I expect to be a huge dungeon
Coral Valley Cave - I can see it being more like an overworld section in either the icicle region or the Northwood region
Forgotten Capital - I know it appeared in Rebirth but we didn't get to explore it - this time we will, and I think it will be part of the Northwood, upgraded to full region status, which will also include the ruins of the temple of the ancients
Sleeping Forest - Again, too brief in Rebirth. Hopefully this time it will be much larger and more explorable. Perhaps an overworld location
Ancient Forest - Not actually sure about this one. Maybe moved to Northwood region. Maybe even moved to mideel region. Either way, I'm sure it will be in the game, whether it's optional or not
Banora and Modoheim - crisis core locations, so they need to be included on the map really, for it to make sense. Both in ruins obviously. One in mideel region, the other in snowy region
Whirlwind Maze/Crater Summit - I'd actually like this to be it's own region, because it just feels too different to the snowy areas to be part of the same region
Crater Cave - Final dungeon so will be super long. I predict, and hope, that the party will split up into 3 separate teams, so that we use all of them in the final dungeon
Underwater Reactor - Will be a big extension to Junon, but a dungeon in its own right
Underwater sections - Will be huge
Crashed Gelinka - Maybe make it compulsory rather than optional, directly after the underwater Reactor
Underwater cave of ancients - Not sure if this will be included because of what I said about Bone Village, but either way it's just a cave, and underwater overworld will have plenty of those
Lucrecias Cave - Tough one to call. Could literally be anywhere
Ocean surface region - will contain isolated islands/islets, such as the materia caves
Return to midgar - maybe I'm asking for too much but I'd hope to be able to explore every sector. Or if not, at least be able to see them by flying over them
