[iOS/macOS] I made a one-knob AUv3 compressor, and I’m really happy with how it sounds

Hey everyone,

It works as a standalone app, but the main reason I built it was the AUv3 version. I wanted a simple compressor that could run inside sandboxed iOS and macOS music apps, without needing a complicated setup or a full desktop-style plugin.

It’s called Gecko Comp.

The idea is pretty simple: one big knob, musical compression, and enough visual feedback to actually see what’s happening.

Here is what it can do:

- Works as an AUv3 effect on iPhone, iPad and Mac

- Loads in GarageBand, AUM, Gecko Studio and other AUv3-compatible hosts

- One main knob controls the compression behavior

- Threshold, ratio, attack and release are tuned together behind the scenes

- Live input, gain reduction and output meters

- Output trim for level matching

- Designed to be quick rather than “deep”

- Useful for drums, bass, vocals, synths, loops, or just gluing things a bit

- No subscriptions, no account, no menu diving

- It’s $1.99 on the App Store

I’m not trying to pretend this replaces a full-featured compressor. It’s more of a “put it on, turn the knob, move on” kind of plugin.

I’d really love feedback from people making music on iOS. If anyone here wants to try it, I have a few promo codes I can share. Just comment and I’ll send some out.

Thanks — and happy to answer questions.

Edit: I have a few promo codes available for people who want to try it. Just leave a comment and I’ll DM you one. Honest feedback is very welcome.

edit 2: Only 2 left!

Edit 3 : Sorry, but the coupons are sold out now. I would like to run another promotion next month? I need to gather experiences first. Thanks for your interest!

Drop in trigger system Europe

I'm trying to order one of those 14" drop-in drum triggers for my snare drum, but all the shops seem to be from England? Due to Brexit, that's not really a good idea regarding shipping. Does anyone know a European address where I can order this?
