Where do I find WFH friends online?

I've been working from home since Covid and I have not been able to find a community of WFH buddies to chat about work (the good, the bad, the ugly) and I don't really have those types of connections with my coworkers (they're just coworkers). So, have you guys found online communities somewhere to find chat buddies?

FWIW, i created a Discord if anyone wants to join - but feel free to point me to some other group somewhere. Or DM me if you want to chat.

I built a social app that's DM-only

I’m a web developer and an introvert, and I’ve always preferred getting to know someone one-on-one rather than performing for a large audience.

But most social apps are built around followers, comments, likes, and visibility.

So I built Dayoff.

There are no follower counts or public comment threads. Instead, posts and personal intros act as invitations for someone to start a private conversation. The conversation is the point—not building an audience.

It’s still early, and the community is small. I’m looking for people who want a quieter, more personal way to meet others online.

Dayoff is a web app, so there’s nothing to download. You can try it directly in your browser:

I’d genuinely like to hear what you think.
