Severe Driving Conditions

The following are from the owners manual. I don't think I fall into any of these. Maybe B or K from time to time, but not regularly. So I don't think I'll change my oil at the severe 5000 mile mark. What about you?

Severe driving conditions

A: Repeatedly driving short distances of less than 5 mi. (8 km) in normal temperature or

less than 10 mi. (16 km) in freezing temperature

B: Extensive engine idling or low speed driving for long distances

C: Driving on rough, dusty, muddy, unpaved, graveled or salt-spread roads

D: Driving in areas using salt or other corrosive materials or in very cold weather

E: Driving in the condition of inflowing sand or dust into engine

F: Driving in heavy traffic area

G: Driving on uphill, downhill, or mountain roads

H: Using for towing or camping, and driving with loads on the roof

I: Driving as a patrol car, taxi, other commercial use of vehicle towing

J: Frequently driving under high speed or rapid acceleration/deceleration

K: Frequently driving in stop-and-go conditions

L: Engine oil usage which is not recommended (Mineral type, Semi-synthetic, Lower

grade spec, etc.)

Fuel Additive for Palisade

As you may already know, our owners manual states to add a fuel additive/cleaner every oil change (8000 miles) if you don't use Top Tier gas.

I tend to follow the owners manual. Plus our town doesn't have top tier gas easily accessible. So after hours of research I've decided to go with....wait for it....Gumout Regane Complete Fuel System Cleaner. After reformulating it this year, it's now 25-50% PEA, a highly recommended ingredient to use with our engines. And it's easily accessible through many stores such as Wally World at around $6 a bottle.

Honorable mentions go to Redline, Liqui Moly and Lucas. Each has a PEA version for our engines. But I just couldn't really see paying around 3 times as much.

I just bought a 2026 Cali Pali hybrid FWD. Was wondering on whether or not to buy some mud guards for it. Tried finding some pics but just can't seem to find any. Anybody got some pics of what mud guards would look like installed?
