Today I had a bowel movement. The first part was somewhat hard and difficult to push out, but the rest was diarrhea. I often have bowel movements that start out normal and then suddenly become diarrhea, although I’m not sure why.

I didn’t have any stomach pain or pain while passing the stool. However, when I wiped afterward, the toilet paper was soaked with blood, and I noticed blood actively dripping.

This kind of heavier bleeding happens around 2–3 times a year. Between these episodes, I occasionally notice very small traces of blood on the toilet paper, but usually so little that I ignore it. I’m generally not constipated and usually poop every other day.

I had a bowel movement yesterday and everything was completely normal, with no bleeding.

Something else I’ve noticed is that the bleeding during these episodes seems to have become faster over time. I remember it originally being slow drops, then progressing to roughly one drop per second, and today it seemed to be dripping even faster. It eventually stopped on its own, and I took a shower afterward.
I’m concerned because this keeps happening and the amount/rate of bleeding seems to be increasing. What could be causing this, and should I be evaluated?
