A huge anime brand stole my Tokyo Ghoul design and passed it off as their own.

Hey guys. I go by deelinquin and I’m a small business that makes anime clothing. Y’all have shown me so much love in the past for my Tokyo Ghoul pieces and I’m really appreciative of this community as y’all have impacted both me and my business in ways yall can’t even imagine.

Recently it’s come to my attention that this big anime gym company that goes by Invicta-Kuru straight up stole one of my Tokyo Ghoul designs and sold out instantly.

It’s an absolute gut punch seeing this piece that I put so much work into get absolutely plagiarized by a brand as big as them. Just imagine developing a product as a broke college student in an apartment with no furniture, just for a huge company steal it and pass it off as their own 3 years down the line and profit off of your hard-work.

As a small and first time business owner, I just don’t have access to the amount of resources these guys do. I can’t put hundreds or thousands into marketing like they do. I started this brand from scraps in a college apartment where my common area was basically like a warehouse for my work.

When my designs get taken and dumbed down to suit these fast fashion cash grabs, my art gets drowned out. We see it all the time in the anime clothing industry. The loss of authenticity and craftsmanship in exchange for profit and mass production, it’s not a new phenomenon.

I’m not posting this because I want pity or a handout. I want to bring awareness to how detrimental plagiarism can be for small brands like me. Small brands who don’t have the firepower to stand up to the big guys.

(Last slide is them blocking my gf for calling them out in the comments. Just goes to show they know they’re guilty)
