Newly diagnosed and given a PPI and told to start trying a food elimination diet. I have a question +
I’m 52F ( almost 53) and just diagnosed at the end of May by my GI doctor after an endoscopy and biopsies. I’m already dealing with perimenopause stuff (uterine polyp surgery coming up this month), so I’m a bit stressed and overwhelmed.
Anyway, I see my GI doctor again later this month for another office visit and I finally have my first virtual Dietitian appointment this week (this was her first availability).
So far I’ve eliminated dairy since June 1 on my own. I told my doctor I don’t know what to eat if I try the 6 FeD diet, so he said to start with whatever’s easiest. My question is: when he does the next endoscopy and biopsies, if things look better and my eosinophils are lower, how will he know if it’s the PPI or if it’s the elimination of dairy that are the reason?
