Elementary Administrators and toxic culture
Elementary school administration: where grown adults form alliances and wage psychological warfare through ‘friendly check-ins.’ There’s something uniquely exhausting about adults who preach ‘regulation’ to children while operating entirely on power/control, gossip, and ego, and treat other adults like shit in order to get their needs met.
Over my time working in the school system, it’s amazing to see how out of all the schools it’s the Elementary school administrators who will be the ones to smile in your face, call you ‘crew,’ and quietly punish you for inconveniencing them in the slightest. I’ve spent the last ten years supporting a school in order to be punished for taking a days that were much needed for my own mental and physical health, and displaying appropriate boundaries which were then treated like insubordination and an inconvenience.
The people who become administrators for elementary schools truly seem to be a different breed. Behavior that’s fitting for the age group in which they serve.
