Quitting after 4 years

For 4 years I’ve give this company and my managers more than my all. I skipped family events, missed time with my son, fought everyone who said I needed to leave. I loved my job. I truly did. The company may be shit but my managers made up for it. But tonight I’m going to get my stuff and resigning effective immediately. Choose yourself people. In the end, you’re just an employee no matter how much time and effort you’ve dedicated to them. Or how much money you’ve made them.

Priorities

I love how Tractor Supply seems more concerned about propane rounding and QPU numbers than the actual issues employees deal with every day.

Our RM and DM constantly push mobile POS usage and propane rounding, but somehow there never seems to be enough payroll for proper staffing, and wages are still a major concern for a lot of employees.

Our store was opened in an area with high theft, and it feels like little thought was given to how that would impact the employees working there. The theft has only gotten worse over time. It’s becoming more frequent, more aggressive, and now people are running out and knocking out doors off the tracks with larger, more expensive items.

We have homeless sleeping in our parking lot and becoming aggressive when we tell them to leave and city police doesn’t do much unless we are in an active danger situation.

Instead of providing additional payroll so we can have more coverage on shifts, or allowing stores with serious theft issues to have security, we’re being threatened with write-ups over propane rounding and mobile POS usage.

I’m not saying those metrics aren’t important, but it’s frustrating when employee safety, theft prevention, staffing, and fair pay seem to take a back seat to numbers on a report.

I’ve only stayed at this company for four years because of my immediate management that I work under. If it wasn’t for them, I would’ve said screw this company a long time ago.
